Flow

I’m not that pragmatic
I often swim against the flow
Others just float on by
“It’ll all be fine”, they knowI worry about lies
I worry about universal things
They only worry about themselves
What each decision will bringI’m not right, they’re not wrong
But these are barriers in between
I wish I could just remove them
But I want my beauty it seemsI walk over my beloved bridge
I breathe the air of the river
The sun will warm me tomorrow
Even as today I walk and shiver
On Beauty

I love the beauty of symmetry
Out of chaos ordered in a row
Buildings with the right proportions
The reason why I don’t knowI love the beauty of women
Their feline movement and grace
I could watch them forever as
Emotions move across their faceI love the beauty of nature
Where form and function are one
The colours and the cycles
Here today and tomorrow goneThere is beauty in music
In books and paintings too
In films and in good food
In the work that man can doWith beauty we choose a mate
And we choose where to live
We choose how we work
And the gifts we choose to give. With beauty we create
Works of art to leave behind
Our way to reach each other
And to light up mankind
Entrance

I was hungry
I was hungry for your love
I was hungry
I was hungry for your loveI saw your face
I saw your lips
I saw the line of your body
And the sway of your hipsI moved up and down
On the edge of sin
I held my breath
And then I pushed on in
I held you
I held you in my arms
I held you
I held you in my armsI saw you laugh
I felt your belly move
The smell of you
Was a sweet perfumeI moved up and down
On the edge of sin
I held my breath
And then I pushed on in
The Cage

I’m in the cage
The cage of age
The signals I see
Are not for me
The flesh still willing
But no function fulfilling
While she flirts and pouts
She leaves nothing to doubt
Her body states
I can procreate
She dresses to show
How her body flows
With subliminal power
To strike in her hour
She flirts and pouts
She leaves nothing to doubt
So much imagery
In a democracy
To grab attention and sell
To cast a spell
It’s nature’s power
The sweet hiding sour
She flirts and pouts
She leaves nothing to doubt
So much energy
In a democracy
Wasted in control
Protecting the whole
When past the junction
When form shows declining function
She still flirts and pouts
She leaves nothing to doubt
Beauty

The truth of beauty
Is in the underlying duty
Form is the birth of function
Removing faults at every junction
Do we need God as referee
When we now have CCTV?
Do we not need religion because
We now have so many laws?
We are so pragmatic
But we’ve lost some magic
Old people die alone
Such a hidden misery grown
We have yet to count the cost
Of the love we have lost
She Lights Up the Room
She radiates light
Her smile lifts my heart
If she has problems
She keeps them apart
She has a lust for life
That inspires me to presume
She is beautiful
She lights up the roomHer hair it shines
Her eyes are bright
Her skin is clear
She dresses just right
Her calm poise
With a hint of perfume
She is beautiful
She lights up the roomHer spirit radiates
A love not artificial
It gives her a beauty
Beyond the superficial
She has a grace
And a vitality that blooms
She is beautiful
She lights up the roomFor 5 minutes
She is amazing
She touched my life
Like a fire blazing
It was pure
And then gone too soon
She is beautiful
She lights up the roomI now pray for grace
To fill my soul
So that I could radiate
And touch people more
To open up my heart
And sing a better tune
She is beautiful
She lights up the room
